Trading journal

A contemporaneous record of every trade and the reasoning behind it.

The journal logs pair, setup, entry, stop, target, risk in R and the reason for the trade at the moment of entry, then exit, result and whether the plan was followed. Written afterwards, the account is a reconstruction shaped by the outcome.

The plan-followed field matters more than profit: a losing trade taken exactly by the rules is a good trade. Reviewed weekly for behaviour and monthly for statistics, the journal is what converts experience into an improvement you can name.
